Trisha Nelson wins inaugural ‘Athlete of the Week’

Trisha Nelson is the inaugural winner of the student-voted “Bethel College Athlete of the Week” award. The senior cross country runner from Maquoketa, Iowa finished 25 out of 313 runners in the Knight’s Invitational at Calvin College on Saturday, Sep. 8. For this accomplishment, Nelson received the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award from the Crossroads League. Nelson has been a consistent force on the cross country team throughout her time at Bethel. In each of her first three seasons as a Pilot, Nelson qualified for the NAIA National Championships finishing 61, 65 and 51.

This will take you to the myBethel page where you log into your account. Then click on the “Announcements” tab on the left side of the screen and go to the athletics section. There you will see the players who are nominated for this week’s award. To vote for a player, simply email the name of the player for whom you wish to vote to This week’s nominees are Daniel Moyo (Men’s Soccer), Callie Patrick (Volleyball), Whitney Neuenschwander (Women’s Tennis) and Meagan McPherson (Women’s Soccer).
