 -  -  23

The year was 1995. The game was the NAIA Division II National Championship - Bethel College vs. NW Nazarene. The Crusaders had just made two free throws to stretch their lead to three with only 5.9 seconds to go.
Mark Galloway finished his Bethel career on top - an NAIA national champion.
Mark Galloway finished his Bethel career on top - an NAIA national champion.
Then the no. 6 player on our list stepped up. Senior Mark Galloway took the inbounds pass, dribbled up court and pulled up for a three from the wing as time expired. Swish. With that shot, Galloway sent the championship game into overtime and etched his name in the Bethel record books. The Pilots would go on to win their first of three NAIA titles. Galloway is remembered for that shot, but he did so much more in the Bethel uniform. After the shot, Galloway hit two free throws in overtime that made him the program's all-time leading scorer (he is now second behind Eric Brand). He was also named the 1995 NAIA Tournament MVP. He was named an NAIA First Team All-American in 1995, and he won the 1995 team MVP award. Along with being the Pilots' second all-time scorer, Galloway is no. 9 on the career steals list (194) and no. 10 in career free throws made (402). He is one of only eight players to record 2,000 points and 500 rebounds (2,622 points, 650 rebounds). Galloway won back-to-back NCCAA National Titles with the Pilots in 1992 and 1993, giving him three championships for his storied career. In honor of all these accomplishments, Galloway was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. Galloway scored very well in the winning category, and he received high placement in experts' picks and statistics. That vaulted him to the no. 6 spot on our list. So now half of the list has been revealed. Do you agree with it, or are there some places where we messed up? Let us know by using #BethelPilotTop10 on Twitter! The rest of the list will be revealed after Christmas Break. The top ten was created by combining expert picks, statistics, championships and awards won, as well as the voting on Twitter. Some players may have been rated high by experts but did not receive as many votes as others. Others may have received votes but their statistics did not matchup against others. The top ten is comprised of the ten players who scored the best across all categories. To see the voting, visit the #BethelPilotTop10 page on the Beacon's homepage.
