Ryan Benner has been on fire. After posting the third-highest single game point total in Pilots' history last week, the senior guard led Bethel (14-2, 3-1) to a 110-69 rout of archrival Grace (8-7, 0-4) by scoring 37 points. This was the 121st meeting between Bethel and Grace, and the all-time series was tied 60-60 going in. The stakes are always high when these two teams meet. The Pilots came in fresh off their win in the Chuck Daly Memorial Classic while the Lancers had just beaten no. 23 Ashford. This game, however, would belong to the Pilots. Benner was the star as he had an amazingly efficient night. He shot 11-12 from the field including a perfect 4-4 from behind the arc. He also hit 11 free throws. This continues the hot stretch that Benner has been on lately. In his last three games, he is averaging 29.7 points per game. Behind Benner was junior guard Zach Miller who hit four threes on his way to 19 points. Junior point guard Matt Schauss had seven points, five assists and four rebounds, and senior guard Landon Booker poured in 11 points. The Pilots got a major boost from freshman guard Caleb Oetjen who scored 13. The Lancers were led in scoring by Logan Irwin who had 14. Star forward Greg Miller was held to nine points, however he did still grab eight rebounds. The 41-point win is the largest margin of victory for the Pilots over Grace.
