The Bethel College Lady Pilot softball team split with the talented Marian Knights last Saturday. Despite surrendering a late rally that resulted in their second conference loss of the season by a score of 7-5, Bethel was able to bounce back and defeat the Knights 2-0 in game two.
Giana Zimmerman took the loss in game one as she went seven full innings and gave up four earned runs. Kaitlyn Dubois was strong at the plate for the Lady Pilots as she went 3-4 and scored a run. Katie Boocher also chipped in with two hits and an RBI. In game two it was all Boocher and Dubois again. Boocher pitched a seven inning shutout while Dubois contributed two home runs and scored the game’s only runs. Danielle Reilly and Melissa Gunderson each chipped in a hit as well. This split moves the Lady Pilots to 4-2 in the MCC and in a three way tie for second place. The team will next play this Tuesday when they travel to Saint Francis. The first game of the double header is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.Print
