On Saturday, March 19 the Pilot softball team swept Robert Morris University in their home opener.
The first game ended in dramatic fashion as Bethel had to comeback from being down 3-0, and score four runs in the last inning to earn the 4-3 victory. The Lady Pilots were able to rally late in the game thanks to key hits from Alyssa Zimmerman and Melissa Gunderson. Holly Weaver hit a walkoff single which drove in two runs and gave Bethel another win. In the second game, Katie Boocher was able to shut down the Robert Morris bats by earning a complete game shutout and contributing to a 4-0 Lady Pilot victory. Boocher also provided all of the offense as she went 2-2 at the plate, with two home runs. The softball team will next be in action Tuesday as they host Trinity Christian College.
