The men’s golf team had a successful weekend finishing fifth out of sixteen teams in the Capital University Purple and White Invite and third out of nine teams at the Taylor Invitational. Bethel shot very well in their first tournament of the spring season, as they claimed a total score of 319 after day one and 333 on day two. Despite holding fourth place after their day one finish, the Pilots slipped and dropped to fifth on the tournament. Despite high wind speeds and low temperatures, several players recorded impressive rounds. Brady Klotz shot a 72 and 78 which gave him a second place finish in the tournament out of 82 golfers. The Pilots shot very similar to their first invitational when they competed at Taylor as they shot an impressive 309 after day one and fell to 321 on day two. Overall, the team was able to compete well in tough conditions again. Klotz finished second again as he shot a 73 and 76 on the tournament. In addition Eric Carnacchi also shot well with a 77 and an 82. Jon Enfield and Greg Lebold each chipped in a total of 161 over the two day span. This Friday the team will travel to Kendallville, where they will compete in the USF Invitational. Their only home meet of the spring will take place April 15, and will be played at Blackthorn Golf Club.
