Ryan VanDosen and Ty Walstra emerged victorious in the cornhole tournament held during them men’s soccer game on Saturday. The two contestants beat our 14 other players to be named the winners. Cornhole is a game involving tossing beanbags or “corn bags,” (hence the name,) at a wooden box with the intention of landing onto the box. If the beanbags land into the hole on the wooden platform, additional points are awarded. The tournament held Saturday followed traditional rules, which can be found on the American Cornhole Association’s official website. “Ty is one of my best friends here,” said VanDosen, a junior. “This is really a great victory for both of us.” The two were awarded by Bethel’s intramural coordinator, Travis Beam, with certificates redeemable for free tacos, as well as the bracket sheet, displaying their names as the champions. “We are cornhole junkies,” said VanDosen, smiling.
