Hello Beacon readers, The Beacon staff is always working hard to cover various aspects of campus life and dig up details you may not have even known existed. To keep you in the know of what we’re covering each week, we’ve started the Beacon Preview, a weekly look at upcoming stories you can keep your eyes out for so you can stay up on the latest here at Bethel. Firstly, the game that’s on everyone’s minds is this weekend. The Bethel/Notre Dame exhibition game is Friday, Nov. 3, and Clay Sidenbender will be getting Bethel’s perspective on the upcoming game, talking with coach Ryne Lightfoot and other on-campus fixtures about the game. And then, on Saturday, check back for a first-person account of the game itself, with interviews and photos of the atmosphere of this huge game. Bethel is currently in the midst of a Reformation chapel series, but what exactly does “Reformation” mean in this context? Myself and Joshua Goodwin will be right here later this week with two stories examining some varying perspectives on theology and history explored in the “Reformation” chapel series. Finally, next Thursday marks the opening night of the theatre department’s production of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and Philip Arndt will be talking to various members of the theatre department about what they hope to achieve with this production, as well as doing some research into how theatre makes impacts in the world outside the Bethel Bubble.
