Bethel Col­lege Con­cert Choir Per­forms for MLK Day

MISHAWAKA— On Mon­day, Jan­u­ary 21st Bethel Col­lege’s Con­cert Choir per­formed at the Mor­ris Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter for the Mar­tin Luther King Ju­nior Day Cel­e­bra­tion. Ac­cord­ing to the South Bend Tri­bune, “This year, the Bethel Col­lege Con­cert Choir joins the South Bend Sym­phonic Choir, the IUSB Chorale and Cham­ber Singers, and the IUSB Gospel Choir as the fea­tured vo­cal­ists. Cel­list Levi Powe, the 2018 first place Ju­nior Di­vi­sion Win­ner of the Sphinx Com­pe­ti­tion, serves as guest soloist for the third move­ment of Saint-Saëns’ Cello Con­certo.” The cel­e­bra­tion took about 2 hours and also in­cluded a pre­sen­ta­tion from the His­tory Mu­seum in­volv­ing South Bend’s con­nec­tions to Mar­tin Luther King Jr and the civil rights move­ment.
