MISHAWAKA--Institutional Advancement held a phone-a-thon from March 21 to April 1 to raise funds for student scholarships.
Three students volunteered to make the calls: Sadie Seward, Kristin Terrell and Sonia Nzuzi. Sarah Charles, director of the annual fund, is the staff member overseeing the phone-a-thon.
“We do these phone calls to make a connection between students and donors,” Charles said. “We hope to cultivate a sense of belonging for donors. We like to take the time to call them and thank them for their continued support and generosity.”
Charles said that the goal of this time is to raise around $7,500 for student scholarships or faculty, as donors wish.
A total of 540 phone calls were made during this time.
“It’s so cool to hear donors’ stories of Bethel and why they love to donate,” Charles said.
Charles also said that 97% of Bethel students rely on scholarships and that it is important for Bethel to continue cultivating these relationships with donors to show that they are making a difference.
