It’s that time of year again ladies and gentlemen—a time of falling leaves, Thanksgiving turkey and no shaving. Yes, we have entered the month of November. No-Shave November is in full swing on the campus. Many guys have shaved off their scruff or beards from October and are starting fresh this month in hopes of going a whole month without shaving. I tracked down several students to get their opinions on No-Shave November. “I think it’s awesome especially for guys, but I’m not doing it,” said freshman Emily Daniels. Some students on campus plan to participate in No-Shave November, but are adding a few of their own rules such as cheerleader Adam Mann. “I’ll have to trim it up for basketball games. I want to see what I’m going to look like with a goatee,” said Mann. While some students enjoy No-Shave November, others such as junior Matthew Wendler and senior Elain Birkey said that not shaving just wasn’t their cup of tea. “I could really care less, because I don’t like facial hair,” said Wendler who informed me that he would most likely not be foregoing the razor this month. “I think it’s kind of gross in a way. It’s weird. I’ve heard from others that it’s a good excuse for guys to be lazy,” said Birkey as she chuckled. Hands down it seems the most excited person is Dave Pepin who is very enthusiastic about No-Shave November. “I fully support this month as my life is always No-Shave November. I support getting back to the roots of manliness,” said Pepin.
