Pilot soccer advances to another MCC championship

 -  -  43

Despite giving up a goal to Taylor University and falling behind midway through the first half, the Pilot soccer team was able to gather themselves and finish strongly with a 4-1 victory. This makes Bethel 10-0 against MCC opponents this year and places them in the MCC tournament championship, where they will take on the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats who are coming off of an impressive 3-0 win over Marian College. The Pilots continued to show off their experience and confidence after allowing a goal to open the game. They created many shots after falling behind, and finally tied it up after Zach Ganzberg was able to net a free-kick at the 31:29 mark. Following Ganzberg’s goal, Ryan Needs was able to capitalize with a goal of his own with the half coming to a close. From there, the Pilots never looked back as they were able to get goals from Humberto Trejo and another from Ganzberg in the second half. Romulo Nobrega and Daniel Moyo had excellent games as well as they each had four shots on goal but were unable to score on any of them. The Pilots will next host Wildcats next Saturday, November 13, with an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament on the line.
