30 The Lady Pilots’ basketball team suffered a tough loss Wednesday night, Jan 12 as they hosted the Marian Knights and fell by a score of 78-70. Bethel continued to receive leadership from standouts Bekah Basinger, Mandy Yoder, and Heather Seyfred as each contributed significant scoring. Basinger was 8-16 from the field and collected 21 points, while Seyfred and Yoder chipped in 13. Alyssa Toupin and Kristen Hicks had great games off the bench as they each contributed eight points. Toupin also led the team with eight rebounds. However, rebounding was a struggle for the Lady Pilots as they were outrebounded by a total of 50-31 by the Knights. With the loss, Bethel falls to 4-3 in the conference and currently remains third behind Indiana Wesleyan and Saint Francis. The Lady Pilots will now host the next four out of five games with their next one at home this Saturday against Indiana University Northwest at 1:00 p.m.
