Pilots drop third straight at Saint Francis

 -  -  47

Despite a hard fought battle throughout the entire game, the Pilots dropped their third straight as they fell on the road to the defending NAIA Division II Champions by a score of 72-65 last Saturday. Although the Pilots once again failed to pull out the close game, they have proved all season long that they have potential to be road warriors. Bethel has collected two out of their three conference wins on the road, which could make them a very dangerous team if they catch fire down the stretch. The Pilots received significant contribution from their starters as four of the five starters put up double digit scoring. Caleb Laideg led all scorers with 17 points, Kyle Ritz scored 13 points, Joe Welch earned 11 points and five rebounds, and Ryan Benner chipped in 10 points and six boards. Steve Ward continued to be a strong lift off the bench as he has been all season with eight points. Taylor Kolbus also had a strong game for the Pilots with over 14 minutes of playing time and collecting four points and four rebounds. The Pilots will look to end the three game skid as they return home Tuesday to take on the Grace Lancers. The game is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. following the Lady Pilots game against Grace. The Pilots will be an upset hungry team as the 16th ranked Lancers defeated Bethel previously this season by a score of 84-76 at Grace.
