The Lady Pilots closed out the regular season with a strong win over the Taylor Trojans last Saturday and clinched the five seed in the MCC tournament. The Pilots downed the Trojans by a score of 70-52, thanks to significant contributions from their seniors who have played terrific all season. The three seniors who have done it all season for the Lady Pilots proved why they are all making their mark in the top ten of Bethel College’s all-time scoring list. Heather Seyfred scored 23 for Bethel, which resulted in her averaging the most points in the conference this season. Mandy Yoder chipped 18 points and six assists. Yoder also led the conference in assists for the second straight season. Bekah Basinger also contributed with 13 points and six rebounds. This was a very crucial win for the Lady Pilots as they not only clinch a five seed for the tournament but head into the first round with momentum. Bethel will match up with Huntington first round of the tournament. The Forresters will host the first round game as a four seed. Although Bethel recently lost to Huntington at home, the Lady Pilots have already beat Huntington once on the road earlier in the year. The game will be held this Tuesday and tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
