Charity Water benefit concert

 -  -  44

Bethel’s Charity Water group is having a benefit concert to help raise remaining funds. Over the past seven weeks, Charity Water has received roughly $3,000 of the $5,000 needed to supply a well. A generous donor has offered to match the next one thousand dollars raised, and a portion of the concert’s earnings will go toward installing a well for clean drinking water in another country. Sophomore Landon Oyer envisioned the event and invited his friend’s band Looking for Astronauts to headline the night. Other performances include three of our very own with an acoustic set by sophomore Grace Holmes; The Procession; and Barefoot. “I really believe in what Charity Water is doing,” said Oyer. “It’s important for more than one city to hear a band, so I thought it would be good for them and something fun for students to do on a Saturday night.” Doors open at 7:30 in the Octorium. The entry fee is three dollars, and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Last but not least, a sneak peek from one of the bands: “Barefoot mixes classic “beatlesque” love song melodies with new up and coming artists such as Rebecca Black,” shared Barefoot member Josh Winningham.
