Lady Pilots overcome Marian late, fall to talented IWU

 -  -  42

The Bethel Volleyball team continued their push in the MCC regular season last weekend as they squeaked by Marian on Friday night, but surrendered a tough loss to Indiana Wesleyan in straight sets on Saturday. The Lady Pilots had all the momentum early against Marian as they were able to claim the first two sets quickly with scores of 25-21 and 26-24. Nevertheless, the Lady Knights came storming back and evened the match as they won the next two sets 25-20 and 25-19. Then, with all the momentum on the Knight’s side, the Lady Pilots rallied and entertained the home crowd with a solid 15-8 fifth set victory. Emily Henry led the Lady Pilots to a 2-0 start to the MCC season with 18 kills on the night. Meanwhile Lindsay Marks contributed 42 assists. The next day did not turn out the same for the Lady Pilots as they ran into a very skilled IWU team. The Lady Wildcats were relentless as they won 25-14, 25-15, and 25-15. Emily Henry battled hard for the Lady Pilots as she chipped in seven kills. The Lady Pilots will be on the road again this Wednesday as they travel to Taylor. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
