Quentin Schultze speaks during luncheon

 -  -  32

Calvin College professor of communication, Quentin Schultze visited Bethel Monday, speaking in chapel and also during a luncheon that followed immediately afterward. The luncheon was put on by the Bethel Communication Department. About 60 students attended and participated in a question and answer sort of format, where Schultze fielded questions regarding the communication field, certain tips, and methods of public speaking. Schultze is an award winning professor, a public speaker, and the author or editor of over a dozen books, including An Essential Guide to Public Speaking, a book he wrote that is used in college campuses across North America, Bethel College being one of them. Monday morning’s chapel message was based on God’s calling for our lives, and several students said they enjoyed the message and felt it challenged them. Schultze’s speech included a book give-away. The luncheon that followed was served in the board of trustee’s room in the Academic Center, and students were invited to share a meal and discuss communication related topics with Schultze. Schultze discussed questions such as, “Where are the jobs in the communications department?” and “What can be done to improve our habits of spoken communication in a public setting?” Taken from Schultze's website, Schultze says, “I continue to explore the many aspects of human communication as an act of faith.”
