The Lady Pilot golf team claimed yet another tournament last weekend as they dominated their own invitational held at Blackthorn. In addition to shooting a 317-321 and outdoing the second place Saint Francis Cougars by 18 strokes, Sarah Henderson came up big for the team by shooting an 80-76 to take the top score of the entire weekend. Due to Henderson pacing the team and placing number one overall, Kaelyn Lingenfelter was able to chip in a 74-83, while Melanie Day and Megan Jakel shot a combined 161 over the two day event. The head coach for the women’s team, Chris Hess, continued to be impressed with the results of the season as someone else was able to step up big for the Lady Pilots. They have all showed the potential to take the top spot on the team and have shown a lot of consistency. This could make them an even more dangerous team when it comes time for the NCCAA National Tournament. The next event for the Lady Pilots will be October 2-3 when they travel to Greenville, Tennessee to compete in the NAIA preview event.
