The annual powder puff football showdown, between the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior classes Oct. 30 showed this year’s freshmen class appears to have a bright powder puff future. The freshmen breezed by the defending champs, the senior class, in the first game and then went on to defeat the sophomore class easily to the tune of 19-0. The dominating freshmen were led by Quarterback Chelsea Ward, who excelled on both sides of the ball. Ward led her team with poise and precision as she connected for TD passes and directed her team vocally on defense. The day was a disappointing performance for the senior class who had won the previous two years when they were sophomores and juniors. The seniors were led by Jordan Robbins and Tiffany “T-Dawg” Christensen who split time in the quarterback position. Senior Gabriella Metz stood out as a legitimate deep threat receiver connecting on several throws with Robbins and Christensen. Nicole Freeman held it together for the seniors on defense where she had two great interceptions on the day and one that went back for a pick 6. When asked to reflect on her last day of Bethel powder puff Metz replied. “It was a good experience and it was really good to reunite with some of my friends. This will definitely go down as the glory days.”
