The Lady Pilot volleyball team experienced major struggles over Fall Break, slipping to conference foes Grace and Huntington in straight sets. On Friday Oct. 14, the team traveled to Grace College, where the Lancers who are currently receiving votes quickly downed the Lady Pilots by a score of 25-16, 25-16, 25-23. Morgan Fox continued to fill in for the injured Lindsay Marks by chipping in 25 assists. Callie Hartman and Ashley Wagner battled the talented Lady Lancers by chipping in six assists while Emily Henry, Alicia Carlton, and Aubrey Husak each contributed five. Despite a tough loss to the Lancers on Friday, the Lady Pilots were not able to recover as they handed Huntington their first win in the conference on Saturday Oct. 15. The Lady Pilots dug themselves into an early hole and were unable to capitalize on any opportunities given. In the end, Bethel fell by a score of 18-25, 24-26, 22-25. Morgan Fox continued to be solid throughout the losing effort with a total of 20 assists, while Amanda Troyer added great defense with eight digs. This was a tough stretch for the Lady Pilots and it will continue to get tougher as they next take on the number 11th ranked Taylor Trojans Wednesday Oct. 19 at home. Bethel will look to their experience as they have all year in order to gather themselves and prepare for the big matchup. The Lady Trojans are currently a perfect 13-0 in the MCC.
