The men’s and women’s cross country team traveled to Goshen College last Saturday Nov. 5 to compete in the 2011 MCC Tournament meet. The Lady Pilots raced well on the day as they achieved 6th place out of 10 teams, while the men’s team finished 7th out of 10 teams. On the women’s side, Trisha Miller had a solid afternoon as she finished with a time of 18:35. This time gave Miller an impressive third place overall finish, 22 seconds behind the leader. Keri Lencke was the second Lady Pilot to cross the finish line on the day with a 32nd place finish. Courtney Chapman and Brittany Fabris had top times as well as they each finished in the top 50. On the men’s side, they were once again led by Harrison Fausey who finished with an overall finish of 26:25, giving him 19th place among all runners. Justin Nelson recorded a time of 27:43, while Logan Kimmel was just 16 seconds behind him. Nelson and Kimmel recorded finishes of 38th and 42nd place respectively. Adam Crawford also finished in 43rd place as he was just 3 seconds off of Kimmel’s time. From here, both teams will prepare for the NCCAA National Championship held in Cedarville, Ohio on Nov. 12.
