Lady Pilots crush last place Maple Leafs 75-40

 -  -  30

In what first appeared to be a possible trap game for the second place Lady Pilots, they quickly downed the Goshen Maple Leafs 75-40 on the road. With this win, Bethel moves to 9-2 in the MCC, while the Maple Leafs continue to search for their first conference victory. The game got off to a very slow start for the Lady Pilots as they found themselves down 19-12. Nevertheless, they have been well accustomed to sluggish starts this season and closed the half on a 23-8 run which put them up 35-27 at the break. In the second half, the Lady Pilots exploded, outscoring the Maple Leafs by a score of 40-13. Goshen found themselves in a tough spot in the second half as Bethel was hitting shots from all over the court, grabbing every loose ball and playing intimidating defense. The Lady Pilots would finish the game shooting 54 percent from the field in the second half. Laura Johnson provided Bethel with sufficient scoring, as she chipped in 17 points and five rebounds. Chrissy Hooks continued to shoot well off the bench as she had 12 points as well. Kristin Hicks also had nine points as a result of going three for six from beyond the arc. The Lady Pilots will travel to Taylor on Jan. 28 to take on the Taylor Trojans. The Lady Trojans are currently 5-5 in the MCC.
