Attention all students! You must complete the 2012-2013 FAFSA application online at www.fafsa.gov. In addition, you need to fill out the Bethel College Financial Aid Application. Students can fill out the latter application by logging into their My Bethel account and selecting the student tab where they will find the online application under financial information. Both FAFSA and the Bethel College Financial Aid Application must be completed by Mar. 1. If your mom always fills out your FAFSA or perhaps you just don’t have any idea what FAFSA is, here is a brief summary. First, FAFSA stands for free application for federal student aid. Prospective and current college students who wish to receive student financial aid must complete the FAFSA each year. Popular aid programs include the Pell Grant, Federal student loans, and Federal Work-Study. The application includes over 100 questions covering student and family assets and income. However, the good news is if you have already submitted a FASFA you may send in a renewal FAFSA as long as you update any information that may have changed from the previous year. Through FAFSA the government determines how much aid a student needs. Although the name FAFSA would indicate it is a federal program the application also allows students to be considered for state and institutional aid in addition to federal student aid. Almost all students qualify to receive some type of financial aid so be sure to fill out your FAFSA application by Mar. 1.
