The Bethel College Chapel Band’s latest offering Love Came Down was released March 6. The album is available for $10 and can be purchased in the Book Store, Student Development Office, Bethel website, iTunes and Amazon. The album is also streaming for free on Spotify. The album provides a slice of what students experience each week as they gather for chapel every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The face and voice of Bethel College Chapel Band Shawn Holtgren said he hopes listeners will experience the themes of God’s sovereignty, dependability and our response to His love and grace in our lives. One interesting difference between Love Came Down and all previous Bethel recordings is that additional audience microphones were used during recording to more adequately capture the voices of students. “People will experience live praise and worship from the Bethel College Chapel,” said Holtgren. “They will hear the passionate praise of Bethel students as they celebrate their God and exalt his awesome name.” Although the first five albums the Bethel Chapel Band were released annually. However, because of his busy schedule Holtgren and the band now release a new album every three years. All money from the sale of Chapel Band CDs will go towards future musical projects said Holtgren. Love Came Down includes popular worship tracks such as “The Greatness of Our God,” “Salvation is Here” and “Everlasting God.”
