Pilots win season opener against Holy Cross

 -  -  50

Ryan Benner scored 21 points and senior Landon Booker chipped in with ten as the Bethel Pilots beat Holy Cross 80-56 in the season opener at Holy Cross. The Pilots shot the lights out, connecting on more than 56 percent of their shots from the field and 50 percent from downtown. They built a 21 point first half lead and cruised through the second half without any threats. Benner's 21 points put him at 1012 for his career at Bethel, becoming only the 53rd player to score more than 1000 points during their career. The Pilots return to action Friday night, Nov.1 when they play in the Maple City Hoopfest hosted by Goshen College. The Pilots will play Madonna University at 6 p.m.
