The Bethel College Pilots crushed the Crimson Wave of Calumet 104-78 in a first round game of the NAIA Division II National Tournament on Thursday night, March 9. The Pilots had great balance as six players scored in double figures. Junior Gage Ott led the team with 19 points while Paul Forman, Caleb Oetjen, and Clay Yeo each scored 15. Bethel will be back in action Friday night, March 10 against the Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon. The Pilots are now 30-4 for the season with Crossroads league regular season and tournament championships already in their pocket. As we've reported, legendary coach Mike Lightfoot announced in January that he would retire at the end of this season. Can the Pilots win a national championship for coach Lightfoot in his final year?
