Women’s Soccer Concludes Season

MISHAWAKA—The Women’s Soccer team concluded their 2021 schedule in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals against No. 8 Marian in a 5-0 loss. The team went 5-14 on the year, which is their best finish to a season since 2013.

“It was a great season for us,” said Head Coach, Jason Freeman. “We had a tough start, at 0-8, but with a young group they’re going to grow. Overall, it was really good. We had the best season on paper in the last couple of years, and it’s a step in the right direction.”

Last year, the team graduated four seniors and did not have a single junior on the team. Heading into this season, the Pilots added six freshmen and three transfers. This year's roster consisted of no seniors and twelve underclassmen, and going into next season will bring everybody back.

“We want to win more games,” said Freeman. “At the end of the day, winning isn’t everything. We were competitive this year, and we want to have more wins in the win column at the end of the year. Ultimately, we want these young women to be prepared for the rest of their lives while here at Bethel.”
