MISHAWAKA—This past week there was a report of stolen property from Sufficient Grounds coffee shop. A student left a personal item unattended and the item was taken. There were also reports of property damage in Oakwood, but the claim was later updated as a report of vandalism as the investigation proved the damage to be intentional. There were more reports of suspicious people roaming campus and attempting to enter vehicles, once spotted they fled campus.

On March 23rd in Weikamp’s parking lot, a car accident occurred. The car was backed up into a light pole. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries.

A campus policy violation also took place last week, but there has been no further comment as to specifics of the event.

Paul Neel, Director of Campus Safety, has a few words of advice for students:

“Always be aware of your surroundings. It is easy to get caught up in our own little world with phones and headphones. We can miss vehicles, people, or other things that can pose a threat to us. If you are going for a walk, ride, or run, let someone know where you plan to go and when you expect to return. Never give anyone you do not know access to your  residence hall.”
