MISHAWAKA, IN—Student athletes are not the only ones who can play sports on campus. Intramural sports provide all students with the opportunity to play in a moderately competitive environment. This year, there are plenty of opportunities to participate in and to spectate.

Even though sand volleyball has ended and a champion has been crowned, 3-on-3 basketball is in full swing. There is a total of 18 teams to watch: 14 men’s teams and four women’s teams.

According to Johnny Bennett, intramurals director, the competition is quite good this year and he is confident there will be many good games this season. The 3-on-3 ames will continue until the end of the semester and takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 9 - 11 p.m.

Next semester, students will have many more opportunities, not just for season-long tournaments, but also some single-day events.

Bennett said, “I’ve been talking a lot with our team, were really just trying to get a feel for what students want.”

Until those single-day events are announced, students can look forward to 5-on-5 basketball and futsal starting after the semester break.

For more information on sign-ups and upcoming events, check the Bethel Intramurals Facebook page or contact Bennett directly.
