Mishawaka -- Bethel University hosts its annual Babe Week Feb. 16-20 for all female students.

Babe Week stands for "Be Authentic Be Empowered,” and according to the women’s residential directors, Michelle Mason, Shupe Hall, and Annie Bennett, Tuckey Hall, the week is about building connections and relationships with people in your dorms and with God.

Bennett said, “It’s to unplug from distractions and growing in relationships with others and with God.”

Just like Dude Week, Babe Week will be filled with morning devotions and evening events in every dorm building for the residents to enjoy. With the kick-off event being a Galentine’s Day Part’ in the Bridge’s lobby, the week will follow with an indoor slip-and-slide and smoothies, hip-hop fitness, “Cereal” Killer, and game night, along with other events that vary per dorm.

The Residential Directors have been meeting once a week since the beginning of the spring semester to plan the week.

Both the residential directors and all residential assistants are excited for the week to begin and for what it offers.

Greta Johnson, junior psychology major and RA for Shupe Hall, said, “It’s going to be so much fun,”

Residential Directors share the same excitement as the RAs.

Mason said, “I am most excited with getting everyone together and doing events we wouldn’t typically do… and to see relationships grow and see friendships across campus.”

Additionally, Bennett added, “We are doing more events together. Before it was every dorm for itself. I like to include everyone. I am most excited for the Tuckey retreat to Saint Mark Missionary church Friday to Saturday.”

Both Residential Directors agree that they are both looking forward to the continual growth of friendships and relationships, to start new traditions and to create memories together.
