Pilots drop another close one

 -  -  46

After giving up a desperate shot with four seconds remaining in the game, the Pilots fell to IUSB last Tuesday increasing their skid to four games. The Pilots ended up losing on the road to the Titans by a score of 54-53 which puts them at an overall record of 8-5. Despite losing a hard-fought game to their rivals across town the Pilots also lost Jordan Bowerman to a knee injury midway through the game. Bethel did find a way to dictate early in the game as they established a 25-15 lead; nevertheless, the Titans continued to crawl their way back into the game when the Pilots found it difficult to score. Ryan Benner led the Pilots in scoring with 16 points while Caleb Laideg had nine. Jordan Bowerman also had eight points while only able to play 15 minutes. The Pilots will hope to rebound after the difficult loss this weekend as they host the Gates Classic. Bethel will play Holy Cross on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and Indiana University East on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Pilots defeated the Saints of Holy Cross earlier in the season by a score of 68-57.
