The two male residence halls on campus, Oakwood and Manges, are gearing up for their annual football game, entitled "Battle for the cheap tin jug." The game will be tonight, Tuesday Nov. 8 at 9:30 p.m. at the practice soccer field. The game has been held each year for the last seven years, with Manges Hall reigning victorious at all seven games. This year, however, Oakwood will play under a new coach, as Josh Hartsell has stepped up as the resident director, replacing Bill Bemis. "It's Josh's first year," said Travis Beam, resident director of Manges. "He says he has nothing to lose." Both teams held practices leading up to the game. Beam stated that this year the Manges team has a consultant, Bob Morton. Morton played as an offensive lineman while he attended school at Notre Dame. He also serves as a resident director at Bethel. Beam stated that he is concerned about the fact that Manges doesn't have as many large players as it has in the past, but still thinks the game will end in his favor. "Manges always has the advantage because we've never lost," said Beam. "We go into it with more confidence every year." Oakwood's resident director sees it differently. "I can sum up our advantage in four words," said Hartsell. "The element of surprise."
