Bethel Sports Network coming soon

 -  -  45

The Bethel Sports Network is a new effort by the Communication and Media Arts Department to showcase Bethel sports and give students experience in sports broadcasting. A $40,000 grant from Eli Lilly allowed the department to purchase new equipment, including four new high definition cameras, a virtual set, and a tricaster. The tricaster is the jewel of the equipment purchased, providing the technology for streaming, recording, and multi-camera live production.

The network will provide information on all Bethel sports, interviews with coaches, talk shows, and live coverage of various sporting events. Director of Student Media Tim Ceravolo is supervising the project. Students in his media classes will be major contributors to the content, but other students who have interest in sports are encouraged to get involved. The network needs play-by-play announcers, analysts, sideline reporters, videographers, producers, and directors. Some students and staff are working behind the scenes to get everything ready. The official launch date has not yet been determined, but they are targeting a date in late September. If you are interested in working for the Bethel Sports Network please contact Tim Ceravolo at 574-807-7399 or ceravot@bethelcollege.edu.
