The men’s soccer team was able to claim their third straight MCC tournament title last Saturday as they defeated the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats by a score of 4-1. Junior Romulo Nobrega got things going for the Pilots with an early goal that put Bethel up 1-0; nevertheless, the Wildcats showed that they had plenty of fight in them as they scored on a rebound for the first goal of the second half to tie it up at 1-1. From there, junior Daniel Moyo was able pick apart the Indiana Wesleyan defense and score two consecutive goals which separated them from the Wildcats. Sophomore Bernardo Sant’Anna had a goal late in the second half as well which gave the Pilots their fourth and final goal. The Pilots have now advanced to the opening round of the NAIA tournament. If Bethel can advance out of the opening round they will travel to Orange Beach, Alabama to compete in the rest of the tournament.
