Last weekend the men’s and women’s track teams traveled to Indiana Wesleyan to compete in their third meet this season. The meet was filled with top Pilot performances, several first place finishes, and two additional individuals meeting the NAIA qualifying measure. On the men’s side, they were led by JW Maierle who won the high jump event and exceeded the NAIA standard. In addition, several other athletes on the men’s side had a productive meet as well. Jordan Heim won the 400m while the 4X200m relay team of Arron Patrick, Calvin Lewis, Talal Maree, and Cory Naragon captured first place as well. The Pilots also placed first in the 4X800m relay competition with a team of Kyle Buetler, Robby Gingerich, Tim Sipe, and Justin Nelson. The women’s team had a great meet as well and was led by April Monaweck, who hit the NAIA standard in the pole vault. In addition to Monaweck’s first place finish, the Lady Pilots captured three second place finishes as well. These consisted of Aunnalea Mustard in the pole vault, Amy Hausner in the triple jump, and Nichole Arnold in the shot put. Overall, it was a great meet for the Pilots as they will now prepare for their next assignment. The Pilot track teams will next be in action this Saturday, as they travel to Greencastle, Indiana to compete at DePauw University.
