 -  -  27

The Lady Pilots had a strong week this week as they were able to capture two strong road wins during this crucial point in the season. Bethel crushed Goshen Thursday night by a score of 77-52 and then cruised past Spring Arbor 57-46. As a result, these wins have allowed the Lady Pilots to climb in the MCC standings, as they currently have a 7-6 conference record and are placed fourth. The team was able to run away from Goshen early in the game Thursday night and they never looked back. Four of the five starters had double digit scoring and the defense was able to force 25 turnovers. High scorers on the night consisted of Mandy Yoder with 20, Heather Seyfred with 19, Bekah Basinger with 15, and Sara Clark with 11. In their battle against Spring Arbor, they managed to stay ahead of the Cougars and slowly stretch the lead throughout the course of the game. The Lady Pilots outscored the Cougars by six points in the first half and five points in the second half. Seyfred and Yoder continued to lead the Pilots as they have all season as Seyfred chipped in 19, while Yoder scored 17. Their defense seemed to be clicking as well against Spring Arbor as they forced 18 turnovers on the night. With just three games remaining in the regular season, it is crucial that the Lady Pilots finish the season strong and play for as high of a seed as possible. Their next game will be on Wednesday as they take on the Forresters of Huntington. Tip-off for the game is set for 7:00 p.m.
