The volleyball team collected two more MCC victories this last weekend as they were able to squeak passed Goshen in an intense five-setter, and put away Spring Arbor with a straight set victory. The Lady Pilots went back and forth with the Maple Leafs all night at the Goodman Volleyball Arena on Friday before they were able to grab the victory by a score of 27-25, 26-28, 26-24, 20-25, and 15-8. Emily Henry was a valuable veteran for the Lady Pilots as she collected a whopping 17 kills. Lindsay Marks also stepped up for Bethel as she had 46 assists and 16 digs. The team was then able to turn around and prove their talent against the less-skilled Spring Arbor Lady Cougars. In the end, the Lady Pilots gathered the win by a score of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-22. Henry was solid in this game as well with 11 kills and chipped in six digs. Amanda Troyer contributed 11 digs, while Morgan Fox had seven. This win put the Lady Pilots at 11-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference. This weekend built quite a bit of momentum, which they hope will carry over into the remainder of the MCC season. Nevertheless, the Lady Pilots will not be in action again until October 7, when they travel to Marian University.
