Lady Pilots turn away Maple Leafs 77-43

 -  -  38

It was all Lady Pilots on Nov. 30, as Bethel cruised by Goshen with a final score of 77-43. This was the first game of the women’s and men’s double header against the Maple Leafs. With this win, the Lady Pilots move to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the MCC. Goshen scored the first three points of the game making the score 3-0. Following that, the Lady Pilots took over the game and went on a whopping 28-0 run to make the score 28-3 just 10 minutes into the game. That proved to be a tough blow for the Lady Maple Leafs and they were never able to recover as the lead continued to climb throughout the rest of the game. Bethel was able to run the court comfortably and knocked down a number of deep shots in transition. Laura Johnson was a huge beneficiary of her teammates finding her on the run as she knocked down five threes and put up a game high 19 points. Georgia Boisse also played well for Bethel, hitting three from beyond the three point line and collected 13 points on the evening. Ashlee Ort continued to be a strong force off the bench as she put up 10 points and an impressive six steals in just 17 minutes of play. The Lady Pilots will hope to build from this comfortable win as they prepare for Dec. 3, when the Lady Trojans from Taylor come to town. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
