Pilots use huge first half to win at Spring Arbor

 -  -  45

It was back to business as usual for the Lady Pilots as they quickly climbed on top of Spring Arbor on the road and never looked back. In the end, Bethel claimed a 60-48 triumph. Despite struggling offensively the last couple of MCC games, the women’s basketball team seemed to find themselves. In the first half, Bethel shot 53 percent from the field and 43 percent from beyond the arc. In addition, they claimed a 43-25 halftime lead. Although the second half did not go as smoothly and the Lady Pilots were outscored 23-17, the damage they had done in the first half was enough to give them the victory. Although the Lady Pilots’ offensive leader, Laura Johnson, was held to just four points, they were able to find scoring other places. Kristin Hicks continued to show off her value as she scored 12 points, while Sarah Clark chipped in 10. Chrissy Hooks was also a huge lift off the bench with six points that came from two of the team’s six three pointers. The Pilots will host Goshen College this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
