Pilot track teams each bring home strong first place finishes

The men and women’s track teams had no problem stealing two first place finishes at the Goshen Invitational. The men scored a total of 251 points to overcome the six team field, while the women scored 272 points to conquer the seven team field. The men were led by several first place finishers on the day which led to their commanding victory. Calen Boyd won three events to lead Bethel, which included the 100m, 200m and triple jump. Other winners consisted of Ryan Carlock in the hammer throw, Robbie Rose in the discus, Michael Ponce in the shot put, Tanner Foust in the high jump, Justin Nelson in the 3k steeplechase, and Robby Burns in the 110m hurdles. The women’s side was filled with a number of positive individual performances as well. They wrapped up a total of seven first place finishes which included Cinnamon Green won the hammer throw and shot put, Kristen Zeilenga in the long jump, Caitlyn Ramirez in the triple jump, Kate Carr in the pole vault, Brittany Fabris in the 3K steeplechase, and Sam Etter in the 100m. Both teams will next be in action on April 4, when they travel to Taylor University to compete in the Taylor University Triangular.
