Theater Department Undergoing Staff Changes

 -  -  286

MISHAWAKA—There have been many staffing changes this year all across the school and even the Theater Department has not been immune. Just recently Johan Godwalt, Associate Professor of Theater Arts, chose to resign. This resignation came as a surprise and much scrambling was required in order to fill his recently vacated roles for the rest of the semester.

One answer to those needs was to rehire Derrick Null, a former faculty member. Mr. Null had resigned this August to pursue freelance work in the area but was rehired to lend a hand.  Don Hunter, Theater Department Chair said, “He’s been freelancing in the area and so I hired him to freelance some of the designs and [technical director] work and he’s teaching the stagecraft class.”

Though there have been many changes, but the show must go on! As such, the Theater Department looks forward to “Sense and Sensibility” an adaptation of the famous Jane Austen work written by Kate Hamill. The program will run November 14 through November 16 and the tickets are currently on sale. In addition, auditions for this year’s upcoming musical will be held November 25 and 26, instructions for what to prepare will be given closer to the audition dates.
