MISHAWAKA—On Monday, Oct. 19, Student Council met to discuss updates and pitch ideas for different areas on campus. First, the council addressed Sodexo and the quality report. Sodexo is currently running a survey to see how they can improve. Currently, they are at about a three-fourths approval in most categories and two-thirds approval on cleanliness. The variety in food was praised and more gluten free options were requested.

The council is working with Sodexo to put together a Thanksgiving/Christmas party for students, but it is still in the works. Student Council also plans to move forward with hosting the second annual Snowball; the council is still in the beginning stages of planning it and implementing COVID-19 procedures.

There will also be a food drive happening from Nov. 2 to 13. All food collected will be donated to Faith Baptist Food Pantry. Student Council is working on the poster announcing the drive; they will be requesting assistance with the food drive. More information on that will be forthcoming.

Student Council also explored ways in which the water fountains could be utilized again. Water bottle filling stations and sanitizing wipes by each fountain were both recommendations. They also discussed ways that students could make it known to others that they are welcome to sit at their table in the Dining Commons. They proposed the idea to have a sign on tables students could display if there are vacancies that are up for grabs.
