MISHAWAKA—On Thursday, Nov. 10, the volleyball intramural started on campus. It will continue through the end of the semester. According to intramural intern Luis Montiel, they will still be accepting signups until Monday, Nov. 14. Your team must include at least two girls and cannot include any varsity volleyball players. This season of intramurals will conclude before finals.
As far as the sports that they have done earlier this semester, beach volleyball and 5-on-5 basketball, there was a good turnout for both. For beach volleyball, sixteen teams of six competed, and for basketball, there were fifteen teams of approximately ten players per team.
For next semester, the plan is to play both pickleball and futsal. According to Montiel, they are going to have both an open and competitive league to allow for more people to participate without having to feel the pressure of competing.
