The Lady Pilots season opener looked promising out of the gate as they led the IUSB Titan’s 34-28 at halftime. However, they were unable to finish off the Titans who came surging back in the second half to beat the 18th ranked Lady Pilots 73-63 on Oct. 30 at the Wiekcamp Center. Perhaps the biggest story of the game was the injury to sophomore forward Georgia Boisse. Boisse who started the game went down in the early minutes of the first half with a torn ACL. After a strong first half the Lady Pilots could not match the Titans who shot 62% from the floor compared to Bethel’s 40% in the second half. The Lady Pilots also struggled to make free throws in the second half shooting only 46%. Forward Bekah Basinger led the pilots in scoring with 18 points and 5 boards followed by guard Mandy Yoder who banked 16 points and had 8 steals. The Lady Pilots resume play at 7:00 PM Nov. 2 at home against the University of St. Francis.
