Lady Pilot volleyball team fights hard, extends losing streak

The volleyball team continued to struggle this last weekend on Oct. 21 and 22, as they fell to Goshen in five sets while losing to Spring Arbor in four. Despite the Lady Pilots not giving up, they were unable to break through during the two day, two game, road trip. On Friday Oct. 21, the Lady Pilots fell behind 2 sets to 1 before capturing a crucial fourth set. Nevertheless, Goshen was able to down Bethel in the fifth set giving them an overall victory of 25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 21-25, and 15-12. Amanda Troyer and Katie Kurth both played extremely well chipping in a combined 40 kills. Morgan Fox continued to be solid with 44 assists, while Ashley Wagner led the team with 15 kills. The Pilots would lose the next day as well after the long trip to Spring Arbor, stretching their losing streak to five games. With the loss, Bethel has fallen to 7-9 in the MCC and 12-12 overall. The next game for the Lady Pilots will be this Wednesday Oct. 26, as they host conference foe Saint Francis.
