Lady Pilots move to 10-2 in MCC with win at Taylor

Since dropping two straight to Grace and Indiana Wesleyan on January 10 and 14, the Lady Pilots have now captured four straight games and seem to be back on track. Their fourth win came last weekend when Bethel traveled to Taylor and crushed the Trojans 75-58. Taylor came into the game with a lot of confidence as they used their home court advantage to gain a quick 6-0 lead. After several minutes of play the Lady Pilots led with a 21-20 lead; however, that lead would begin to expand rapidly as they went into the break up 35-28. The Trojans were very flat in the second half shooting just 25 percent from the field, and the skilled Pilots were able to capitalize outscoring them 40-30 in the second half. Ashlee Ort had a breakout game with a career high 18 points. Ort has been used for her defensive play throughout her time at Bethel but went seven for ten from the field. Laura Johnson had a game high 21 points, while Georgia Boisse chipped in 12. The Lady Pilots will return home on February 1, to take on Mount Vernon Nazarene. Bethel is now 10-2 in the MCC, while the Cougars are 3-9.
