The Concert Choir, the Chamber Orchestra, the Collegians and the Voices of Triumph all took to stage this past weekend, performing in front of a packed auditorium in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel. "Nothing is Impossible," Bethel College's sixty-fifth annual Christmas Concert, began with the brass players of Bethel College performing a prelude, filling the Great Hall with music as attendees filed in. The program then formally began with "Baba Yetu," a Swahili adaptation of "The Lord's Prayer." From there the performance continued this theme of other cultures, featuring Scripture reading and music representing a variety of languages and cultures. Among those represented were Russian, Spanish and Welsh. The concert was also interpreted into American Sign Language. "I think the audience really liked the show," said Tara Caswell, a sophomore who sings in the Concert Choir. "I had several people tell me that they had goosebumps from the concert." Caswell's personal favorite was "Breath of Heaven," which was sung by the women of the choir. According to Caswell, she enjoyed performing that particular piece because "there is so much passion in the song." The Concert Choir practiced Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for three hours a day leading up to the show, according to Caswell. Junior Kristie Nave enjoyed the performance that was put on Saturday night. She most enjoyed a soulful, gospel rendition of "Hallelujah" from "Handel's Messiah." "It was beautiful," Nave said, later adding: "I just sat there smiling, thinking, 'You guys are so good!'"
