Lady Pilots drop crucial battle against Forresters 61-60

 -  -  35

Despite their momentum heading into Wednesday’s game against Huntington, the Lady Pilots basketball team dropped a heart-breaker by a score of 61-60. The team had been climbing in the MCC standings throughout the last couple of weeks; however, this game drops them to 7-7 in the conference and in fifth place.

The Pilots did receive significant contributions on the night from the three who have done it all season. Mandy Yoder and Heather Seyfred each picked up 16 points on the night, while Bekah Basinger chipped in 13. Sarah Clark, who has stepped up in a big way the last several weeks, had a solid night with 13 points as well. Kristin Hicks scored two for Bethel as well. Nevertheless, the Lady Pilots were unable to find scoring outside of the starting lineup. As a result, the Forresters were able to hit shots down the stretch and pull out the close win.

Although this loss to Huntington damages the Lady Pilots standings, they can still use their last two games to reclaim a high seed for the MCC tournament. Bethel will travel to Marian University on Saturday, and then host Taylor University the following Wednesday. Both of those games could potentially help the Lady Pilots if they close the season with in a tie
