The men’s baseball team came back to Mishawaka with a 4-6 record they had accumulated after their Spring Break trip. The team matched up against some tough competition and managed to only be swept once in the six days. Branden Paulen gave a tremendous contribution on the mound as he was able to pitch in three games, eleven innings, and acquire an ERA of 4.09. JJ Dubois also saw eleven innings during his time in Florida and attained an ERA of 7.36. Jordan Hall and Lance Schrock pitched well in relief for the Pilots as they earned ERAs of 4.16 and 6.00 respectively. Earning wins for the Pilots during their stay in Florida included Bubois, Jerrod Long, and Paulen. The Pilots were also able to hit the ball significantly well and were in many of the games that they failed to come out of on top. Chad Vanderbosch led the team in hitting as he acquired a .391 batting average, while Cody Nealeigh hit .364, and Brandon Robbins hit .320. Robbins also hit the teams only home run during their stay. The team now prepares for their next set of games that will take place before the conference season kicks off. The Pilots will face Concordia University twice and Holy Cross once before facing their MCC foes, Goshen College, on March 24 at home. The Pilots host Concordia this Saturday and times are set for 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
